Ponta da Piedade Walk and Boat Tour

This walk runs along one of the finest natural features of the Algarve.

Ponta da Piedade [Tip of Piety] is a group of striking rock formations along the coastline of the town of Lagos. The cliffs exposed to the sea have been chiseled-out by powerful winter storms creating striking rock formations, caves and sinkholes.

A boardwalk follows the western side of the coastline from the lighthouse to the Praia Canavial [Sugarcane Beach] (without access to the beach). The walk takes place along the top of the coastal cliffs far from the edge.

Although the cliff-views are beautiful, a staircase consisting 180 steps leads down to a picturesque cove where the beauty of this natural wonder can be appreciated up close.

The most memorable way to experience the cliffs is via fishing boats, kayaks or paddleboards that are small enough to meander between the fascinating rock formations.
