Problem solving is a process of developing a structured understanding of an issue; a process of formulating the problem and of contriving a solution. In today’s ill-structured, turbulent and information-laden business environment, solving the right problem is of crucial importance and often of strategic significance. Instead of defining a typology of problems, the purpose of this paper is to explore the problem space defined by two dimensions, i.e. content complexity and ‘process management complexity. Better understanding can be useful in framing the problem domain of an issue under consideration.
